Horst and Joann Glagowski
Joann Mae Glagowski (Luttringer) was born December, 1925 in Dayton, OH. She grew up in Dayton, attended school there, and graduated from Dayton High School in 1943. She then worked for NCR where she met Horst. The romance was interrupted when he was drafted into the Navy in 1945, but they were married on military leave in April of 1946.
After WW2 three sons were born, Terry, Jack, and Don, and the family moved to an 80 acre farm near Miamisburg, OH, just south of Dayton and near Springboro where Joann's parents also lived on a farm. There they stayed until 1960 when a series of moves took the family to Valdosta, GA, Florham Park, NJ, Trumbull, CT, Orangeburg, SC, and back to Trumbull, CT. Raising the kids was a full time job, but when they were all off to college or trade school, Joann worked as a temporary office worker for a time in the mid 1960's to help with college expenses.
When Horst retired in 1979, the couple moved to Milford, CT, then to Wolfeboro, NH on Lake Winnipesaukee in 1986. In the summer of 1999 they sold out and moved to a retirement community in Whitinsville, MA (Northbridge) near Upton where they live today.
